How to build the internet presence of a brand

Constant innovation and the ability to adapt to changing markets are two indispensable factors for a company in order to evolutionize and grow. Garrofé Brand & Pack is a good example of an agency which has evolutionized according to industry demands and which, having come from a business model focusing on traditional design and packaging, has now specialized in managing the image, branding and packaging of a brand.  This ever evolutionizing market has seen the unforseen arrival of a new protagonist: Internet, and the challenges which come with building the presence of a brand on the internet. This challenge becomes even more complicated when we are referring to brands who need to build a reputation of trust and credibility due to the nature of their products, a challenge which the new medical cosmetic brand KPS has recently faced.

Kern Pharma and Skeyndor, the founding companies, wanted to create a brand which could be sold at conventional pharmacies and parapharmacies. Their products would be sold within an exclusive circle, thereby showing credibility to clients. So, working together with Garrofé, the KPS project was born, a new concept within the medical cosmetics sector with a completely revolutionary business model: a restricted e -commerce system where products can only be bought with a medical prescription.

When referring to any product prescribed by a doctor, we look for brands which offer us quality, credibility and safety. This was the first principal difficulty Garrofé faced when creating the online presence of KPS Vital. It was a complex challenge: creating the entire image of a brand opening its doors to online sales within an otherwise traditional sector, such is medical cosmetics. How would it be achieved?

For Garrofé the challenge was to develop the new medical cosmetic concept presented by the client. We are not referring to conventional e-commerce, but to a restricted access platform, and this limitation is what earns the user’s trust when the patient can only aquire the products prescribed to them. When a doctor prescribes KPS to a patient, they give them a prescription code. The patient goes on to the website, imputs the code and they are able to buy the prescribed products, giving the doctor access to follow up each treatment.

Offering medical cosmetics through an e-commerce platform resides on establishing trust, as it is not the conventional way of selling these types of products. For KPS there were various ways of ensuring a high level of reliability: patient only restricted access, purchases made only under doctor control and the ability to get exclusive products otherwise inaccessable through other sales channels.

So what started as a naming and designing job has turned into the creation of medical cosmetic brand with its own e-commerce channel and a reputable image giving KPS a high-end brand status and positioning it in the market as a premium medical-cosmetic line.
