The first tissues were invented way back in the 1920s under the clear premise they were to be used then thrown away. But does it also have to be the same story for the box? Could there be life beyond the common cold, which the box’s tissues fail to survive?
This is what Valerie L’Italien contemplated when her professor at l’École de design UQAM asked her to design a tissue box. So she decided to make a design with a second life, transforming the box into a guitar once it was empty. She finished by adding three super stretchy rubber bands to the upper part of the box and there you have it: a little guitar, pic included! This is definitely what we call reusing.
